Hi! I’m Rob Vischer. My schedule gets interrupted by the neon shades of nostalgic sunsets, by love stories hidden in the wrinkly smiles of elderly couples, and by light bulb ideas for soaring melodies and intimate lyrics.
Whether I’m on stage or at the dinner table, my life equals adventure. “On my bike trip across America” is the phrase that introduces way too many of my stories, and stories, in movie or book form, are the only things that keep me up past 4 a.m.
My mom once told me, “Things aren’t boring. People are.” My goal is to never be one of those people. I don’t play video games, but I’m always up for a drive-in movie. I don’t own a tv, but if you catch me daydreaming, I’m probably envisioning the music video that I’ll direct someday.
To get my kicks, I sneak backstage at concerts then act like one of the crew. I dream about intricate soundscapes for my songs then try to create them. I listen to God then put footsteps to His dreams by prayer and collaboration with friends.
One of my college professors said that his life goal was “to advise students to take big risks.” My life goal is to be the student who listened. In the last five years, I quit a well paying job to bicycle across America, release an album, sell cd’s door to door, and tour. As a result, I’ve experienced scenery that most people only view on a postcard or through their windshield. I’ve sold 2,000 cd’s. And I met and fell in love with the most beautiful woman on the planet.
In the next five years, I want my passport to be stamped full of foreign visas, my music to be heard by millions, and my love for God and others to become more and more apparent to my family and friends.
When people ask me why I don’t watch many movies, I always answer, “Because I’d rather live the movie.” With God whispering his direction and close friends offering their ideas and support, there’s no movie I’d rather be apart of.
As you get to know me, my music, and my mission, I hope your daydream movies become the motion pictures you live in.
