MANCELONA CAMP (Mancelona, MI)
Okay, so here is the feedback we got from the youth in regards to your band at camp. We ask them to rate things like the worship, speaker, food, and counselors on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best. We also ask the counselors to evaluate the worship, speaker, director, food, etc. on the same scale.
You had one person rate you a 10,000 (and they ran out of room on the paper for zeroes). You didn’t receive any rating lower than an 8. The youth average was 10.1 out of 10. The counselor average was 9.6. One of the most frequent comments we got about improving camp was to have your band come back. The kids really connected with you.
We appreciated your willingness to hang out with the kids and to connect and get to know them. We had several who commented about how they were able to do business with God at the concert and really were able to move forward in their relationships with God.
From a director standpoint, we appreciated your flexibility and willingness to serve with us, even in the less than ideal conditions of the tent. The message of the music fit perfectly with the speaker’s message. You worked together with Chad so well to create a deep worship experience for the kids. We’re looking forward to having you back in 2014!
We will spread your name around to other camps. The ones that come to mind right away are Prairie Camp in Indiana and Ludlow Falls in Ohio. We also have a youth convention every other year in December. 2013 is the next scheduled one and I’m not sure who they have scheduled.
Thanks again for all you did at camp!
Debbie (and David)
I met Rob a little over a year ago at Quaker Haven Camp. Immediately, one of the first things that I realized with Rob and his band is that they are in tuned with the Spirit. They invest themselves in prayer for services and are willing to change on the fly if the Spirit leads.
I know that this has to be hard for a musicians, but they realize that it is not about themselves or their show, but about God and the kids that they are ministering to. Another great thing about Rob and his band is that they interact with the kids. They lay down their pride and are willing to do whatever it takes to make the kids feel comfortable, so that they may interact with God freely.
As a youth camp director, I highly recommend Rob and his band for any worship setting whether it is for adults, teens, camps, or where ever. They all have a heart of worship, and overall, that is what is most important. I loved working with all of them, and I am looking forward to working with him again in the future.
QUAKER HAVEN CAMP (Syracuse, IN)
Rob Vischer and his band led worship and played a concert for each of our two Senior High Camps last summer at Quaker Haven Camp in Syracuse, Indiana. He and the band did a great job!
There are two things I appreciated most. The first was that Rob really connected with the students. Some worship or music guys will come in, do their music, and then you won’t see much of them. Rob was engaged in the activities, and the meals, and he really used those times to enter into the world of the students.
Second, Rob brought a spiritual sensitivity that really brought us all into the presence of Jesus. In the songs he would do and the things he would say between the songs, he was truly listening for God’s voice and allowing that voice to guide him. As the speaker for those two weeks, it was really cool that we could allow this to flow with what was being said from the pulpit.
I would recommend Rob and his band for any worship event, camp or service requiring music.
